Webinar 1: Thursday 25th July, 2024

"Teaching and learning on ward rounds"

The historical tradition of teaching and learning at the bedside and on ward rounds is strong. But the current pressures in busy clinical settings mean teaching and learning is increasingly sidelined by other demands. How can we do better, without working harder? Learn how to structure teaching and learning and perhaps even save time.

Webinar 2: Thursday 26th September, 2024

"Feedback in all its forms"

Feedback is widely recognised as one of the most effective ways we help people grow and learn. Yet despite decades of research and attempts to create a feedback culture, feedback remains difficult for many and challenged by the hierarchy which still exists in health care. What is it, what tools can we use and how can we make it easier?

Webinar 3: Tuesday 19th November, 2024

"Coaching for professional development"

When our learners are adults and often fellow staff members how can we help them learn and grow. Coaching offers us an alternative to having all the answers. Yet it requires us to take a step back, develop skills in listening and asking and thinking through options.

Work-based assessment in practice

Learning on the job is critical. Having ways to assess what our learners are doing in practice has become increasingly important. Here we will explore work-based assessments – their uses, disadvantages, and their potential.

Including patients and families in our paediatric education

We are paediatricians and aim to patients and families at the centre of our care. Yet we do the same in our education? What do our patients and families think of the education they see? What do they want from us? How can they help improve our education initiatives?
